From the primordial and cosmogonic concepts of Eternal Time and Inevitability, Death was "born" along with the Omniverse itself and the other cosmic entities associated with it. Unlike other entities that embody life and growth, Death personifies all Demise, Decay and Destruction.Through the countless eons and Multiverses, Death has served in different ways regarding the regulation of Life and Mortality.Although there have been and exist many deities or entities of death (Anubis, Thanatos, Azrael, Hel, King Yama, Shinigamis, Santa Muerte, Morrigan, Mot, Trempulcahue, etc.), of numerous pantheons and religions, Death is the most powerful and absolute of all, being that it is rooted in the great majority of beings, including these said (except those more superior and that are essential for existence at an absolute rank, like herself).One of the main functions of Death is that of psychopomp; that is, that of a being who is in charge of cutting the last ties between the soul and the body, in addition to watching over and guiding the deceased to the Afterlife, regardless of their reality and belief.It could be said that Death does not cause the death of the person themselve; however, she is capable of killing if the occasion requires it. In both cases, she is the one who collects the soul from that body anyway.Another of her duties includes having to get rid of threatening entities or entire Universes, in case they represent an imminent danger or are in some existential "emergency". This is, for example, when the specific Death Spirit of some Universe comes to an end for some reason, Death puts an end to it; so that an imbalance does not occur if chaotic forces take more power.Even if she knew endless individuals, be they mortal and immortal; due to her nature Death has avoided as much as possible to create ties and her existence has been mainly solitary. However, she was always more than willing to socialize if the occasion allowed and permits. On the other hand, Death is not properly "alive" nor does she have a "heart" or a "soul", but she simply exists, she simply is.Death makes her home in the Realm of Death, a dimension of her own making and totally inaccessible to the living. This site is "exclusive" and invisible to many even if they were deities or cosmic entities like her, and only those who she deems fit, can enter.COVER AS A MORTALOutside of her occupations and duties as a Cosmic Entity, Death usually adopts her human appearance in order to coexist with mortals. APPEARANCEIn the first instance, Death doesn't have a single defined appearance per se. Being that she is an abstract entity, she can take on any aspect at will very easily.However; in her "pure" state, she is basically a cluster of energy: this form can be seen to other beings as a patch of starlight and dust, and a spatial void; very variable in its size (from colossal in the sky to the size of a marble).Another of her forms includes that of a shadow, spirit or spectrum of dark color, and intangible.Another of the most outstanding images of Death is that of her Grim Reaper form: a human skeleton, dressed in a black tunic or cape and hood, carrying a large scythe in hand. Likewise, such clothing and tool give off a blackish aura, lethal to any other being. Occasionally a pair of wings are seen on her back, whether they are feathered (also black in color) or only bony.On the other hand, Death is assiduous to adopt an appearance like that of any human, regardless of sex, size (understand this as looking like a child, an adult or an old person), or skin color. This can be misinterpreted as a supreme understanding of the whole. However, it is simply knowing everything and having an acceptable understanding of it.● Death: Death can free the soul or spirit of a living being, but generally leaves this task to the various beings from Afterlife under her rank. Because Death is the embodiment of all death, each lost soul belongs to her, so the passing agent is often irrelevant.● Return of life: On the other hand, Death can also reverse that passage and immediately return the belonging soul (thus bringing them back to life), as well as postpone their death or eliminate what is killing that person (returning their quality of life), but that rarely happens. She can subjugate the person or induce various thoughts, especially those considered "negative" (madness, depression, apathy, etc.).● Necromancy: Being in charge of beings at the time of death, Death can manipulate these souls and use them as energy (specifically those that she believes are not worthy of eternal rest); as well as summoning the spirits of the deceased, demons and the dead. Necromancy is a form of divination and therefore can often be misinterpreted as "voodoo" or the occult. Necromancy differs from these forms of physical magic due to its direct influence and lack of ritual.● Metamorphosis: She can alter her physic structure in a vast variety of shapes and sizes. It differs from the simple Transform because it is not limited to a form or a direct form. In many cases, Death can alter her shape to mimic the physical characteristics of people or animals. She can also mimic someone else's form down to the molecular level.● Breaking the fourth wall: Death is a superior being, so she is aware of the existence of herself and the vastness of the Omniverse. This allows her to have knowledge about different people, cultures, customs, religions, universes, even franchises and everything related to the real world.
